Join conscious music singer-songwriter and Yoga Nidra (lying down guided meditation) Kripalu certified teacher, Frannie Faith, for an exploration of meditation & relaxation techniques for stress reduction, and experience the power that music & sound has to heal and bring us to a peaceful state of being.  In the workshop Frannie sings selections from her CDs and her exquisite vocals with her Tibetan bowls will wrap you in blissful vibes. She also uses sound to to open and balance our energy systems. You don’t need to be a “singer” to receive the uplifting, prayerful and joyful energy that comes with conscious vocalization. You’ll leave with foundational meditation practices that you can take home for your personal and/or professional use as well as an open heart and peaceful mind! Perfect for beginners as well as more seasoned meditators.

What is Yoga Nidra?

Yoga nidra (yogic sleep),is an ancient practice brought to the west in the 1960s. It is one of the deepest of all meditations. Frannie will guide you through a systematic series of body, breath and awareness techniques to take you into a profound level of stillness and insight. All you do is lie down (or sit if necessary) in a comfortable position(Shavasana) and listen to her instructions. It's that simple and you can't do it wrong!!!!

During the practice, one may appear to be asleep, but the consciousness is functioning at a deeper level of awareness. Research shows that yoga nidra induces complete physical, mental and emotional relaxation and has biological, psychological and spiritual benefits. It has been found to strengthen the immune system, lower blood pressure, heart rate and cholesterol levels, reduce or eliminate pain medication, reduce anxiety, depression and addictions, and strengthen the endocrine system.  This deep relaxation not only reduces stress but retrains the nervous system as well. Yoga Nidra allows us to manage our lives with greater clarity, serenity and balance. It is being used widely to help veterans with PTSD and for helping with addictions.

About Frannie Faith

Frannie Faith is a singer-songwriter, certified in Yoga Nidra and Power of Awareness Meditation and as a Reiki Healer Level 2. She brings meditation, mindfulness and music together to open hearts and heal. A lifelong meditator and a professional performer, Frannie has two music CDs of original songs, Artist of the Heart and Bring Up the Vibration. Whether she was singing professionally for television and radio, backing up the late Whitney Houston, or singing at yoga studios, retreat centers and ashrams – music has always been a direct connection for Frannie to God. Frannie has two music healing CDs of original songs; “Artist of the Heart” (from which her piece “Gate Gate” was chosen for a Kripalu’s Seva #5 CD. She also has a new CD, Peaceful Places, featuring guided meditations, yoga nidra and chant. She is a co-presenter at Omega Institute and Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health, and teaches meditation in studios and privately.
